Steem has fundamentally changed the rules of the game -which is a huge thing.

Because of that, it has a chance to eclipse facebook and many other big ones

History is about to repeat itself. The change of rules in the game has always preceded the fall of giants. The network effect of Facebook is so strong that I doubt no-one could have beat them in their game, but I dare to say that steem will fundamentally shift the ground under the old giants. This happens quite rarely, and we are witnessing it now.

As insignificant as I am, I would like to congratulate Ned and Dan for this revolutionary invention. I believe it is going to be huge. I believe strongly in some other crypto-related projects, but this one has no piece missing. It is ready for the consumer - the huge masses. That is also unique among cryptocurrencies. Congratulations!

EDIT:
Just to clarify my points:

  • Steem has introduced a totally new paradigm into social media - the aspect of earning money from content creation without ads
  • Steem has fundamentally lowered the barrier of entry into cryptocurrencies, thus expanding it's reach far beyond earlier attempts
  • These two things combined form a unprecedented combination, which might prove unstoppable.

Seems to me like this platform can grow as fast as the devs are able to resolve bugs, update the interface to modern standards, and fix problems to do with aligning incentives for new audiences to create more valuable niche content.

The genie is out the bottle, this is just what the crypto word needed to drive mass adoption. What is you first wish?

I agree. STEEM will blow up if they can figure out how to get it fluidly onto other platforms. Drawing people into their framework is the key.

And congratulations to everyone here for being in the right place at the right time!

I am afraid only the giants stealing Dan's idea...

That's why they need to scale horizontally ASAP.
