What did I get from 95K DEC + 60 season reward cards??
Greeting residents of Splinterlands!
today I have taken a big step towards my sm career!
Till after the release of SEED project (launching a series of promo cards), I didn't have a good collection of the promo cards. I did invest a small amount in the project and got some cards. But till now I only had bought 3 orbs.
So, I have managed to gather 95k DEC to do some hustle today and give a boost to my card collection. I already had saved over 35k DEC myself and yesterday, I took 60k DEC as a loan from @neoxian sir.
my plan was to buy 1x 100% legendary potion + 1x 100% gold-foil potion + 20 orbs. 20 orbs because I would get extra as free. So I will be opening 23 orbs + 2 beta packs + last quest reward + season reward (60 cards for Diamond I)
Those extra 2 orbs and 2 beta packs I got from mystery spell and I highly recommend to you all to buy those.
So, lets now see what is written in my destiny!
First, let me show you my DEC meter.
so, I have exactly 95,367 DEC in my wallet.
Now, let me buy those 2 potions and 20 orbs (+1 free)!
Ok! So, now I have both of the brilliant potions and 23 orbs + 2 beta packs + 60 season reward cards to open!
Ok homies! let's dop this!
First let me open all the orbs!
Wooo !!! First pack opened and I got 2 wizards! cool!
2nd pack!
woot! got mermaid healer in 2nd orb. Next one plzz!
ok, not so bad... got an eel, next!
ok, only 1 undead archer....
next one, should we?
got my first GoldFoil! it's a common molten ogre!
got a silvershield bard this time!
next one!
got 2 rares this time, next
got the gf silvershield bard! woot!
got a bard again! no sign of any legendary card till now!
.....disappointed.. let's see another one!
again a gf.. well well

hmmm....
23 orbs! no legendary!!! Is that just bad luck or my legendary potion is corrupted.
Now let us open for the reward cards!

So, that was it! I have opened all the packs and got only 1 LEGENDARY CARD!
Well, I have got some decent goldfoils and the gold-foil potion has done its work well.
But I am just stoned looking at the outcome of the brilliant legendary potion. How come after opening so many packs, I only got 1 legendary card!
But that is my destiny this time. I still hove 300+ chances with both the potions. Let's see if I can get better cards by opening quests while they last.

You should jump over to the Splinterlands Discord server and talk to them. It isn't a bug, just the 100% isn't as big of a bonus as you think. They explained it to me a while ago. The 100% potion only doubles your chance, it doesn't give you a 100% chance. It takes you from like a 2% chance of getting a Leg or GF to a 4% chance. You have to be either really lucky or opening a ton of cards to see the benefits. It is also possible with the number of GF cards you got that it doesn't apply both potions at once. It might have only been using the GF potion.
yes bozz I know about the fact that it only increases the chance to +100%, it's not a gurrantee. but normally i get 2-3 legendary cards only from season reward alone. but as in here, i opened roughly 200+ cards but got only a single legendary? isn't that weird?
anyway, i am not going to sm server over this matter, just taking it as my bad luck and to move on. ;)
You are far better off than me. I didn't realize that was the case until after the fact. Luckily I hadn't spent the DEC on the potion yet. I think a lot of the higher level players have been just buying the 50% potion from what I hear. I could be wrong though!
it may be right. last time i bought 50% of both potions and the cards were way better than what i got this time. i got 5 legendaries only from season reward. I think it will be better to use 50% potions from now on
