The value of Steem for today is XAG0.00620501. It has a current circulating supply of 214 Million coins and a total volume exchanged of XAG3,356.6 |
Just to give us a little perspective. Silver at the time these charts were created is at $16.92. Steem is actually holding it's own very well as we can see when measured against Silver. Both the US Dollar and Bitcoin are very strong making Steem appear much weaker when measured against those assets.

Thank you for posting @majes. Very intersting, since Steem is pegged to the dollar....what is its future? What is Bitcoin pegged to?

I don't know a lot about bitcoin but I don't think it is pegged to anything.
But, the fact that bitcoin is doing so well while the US Dollar is stronger than it's been since 2003 is very telling. It gives us a different perspective when comparing steem to different currencies and assets rather than just comparing it to bitcoin or the USD.
Although in general people are going to be more interested in BTC/Steem and USD/STeem I thought it would be interesting to make these charts. As for the future, well I can't tell that but I think the coming hardfork will be good for steem in the long run...
