RE: "Immutability Questioned After Steemit Blog Bans 9/11 Blackmailer’s Account"

in #steem6 years ago

No one cares Ned is taking off with all the steem but inaccurate reports about steemit not being the same as the steem blockchain have everyone freaking out.

Praising our censorship resistance all over the internet brought us cyber criminals now. On top of the crazies, racists, and extremists. We need to attract people with money not trash that got booted off all the other social media sites.

Sort:

If Ned takes off with all the Steem that Steemit Inc owns and sells it, then the blockchain balance of power will only improve. I doubt that's what he's doing. It would be against his own interests or at least I'd assume it would be.

Yeah we attract all kinds. "Censorship resistance" is actually just the inability to tamper with accounts on the Steem blockchain. It attracts investment. Who the hell will invest in a blockchain where the owners can arbitrarily decide to shut down their accounts and confiscate the money in their wallets? No one with half a brain. Here, unless you're hacked, no one can touch an account. We'd have to literally hardfork to even come close.
