Advice to Steemians: Keep your friend close but keep your enemies closer Part 1
It is not just a popular Sicilian phrase there is much to learn from it. I’ll be breaking them into bits. First of all I want you to know this, there are friends and there are enemies but in between the two is the family, it is not in a specific order so don’t just try to figure out how related they are.
The Family

In order to appreciate the three, friends, family and enemies, I’ll like to first of all say few things about the family.
The family is a more complex entity. The family can never be compared to anything such as friends or relationship. Do not confuse the loyalty of friendship with the bond of blood. With a few upvotes, coins and sbd here on steemit, a friends can be bought but this is different from being a family.
A friend can be chosen, I mean friendship is by choice but family is much more than that, it is by birth. It is forever, thick or thin, feast or famine, fino alla fine (to the very end). One of the problem of the family is its genetic aspects. Yes, every family has its own black sheep, share of idiots, addicts, drunks, thief…. It’s inevitable.
The good thing is that you already know them and you are probably dealing with it. Uncle Pablo is a gambler, Anna is a drug addict etc they are poor souls and should even be pitied rather than pubic condemnation. That’s the brief about family

Friends are the most problematic in this web. The problem with them is their candor. They can sell you for money (ask Jesus Christ), because they know everything about you. To them it’s nothing personal it’s just business.
A German proverbs states
Ein Freund ist jemand der dich kennt und dich trotzdem liebt (A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same).
True friends are expected to be close to you and watch your back. There are certain things you can’t tell some family members but you are comfortable with friends. Your true friends you’ll know but not until they are tested.
Others may do it for love of money but true friends will do it for the love of a friend. So long as things goes well for you, your true and phony friends may never be revealed. When you reach the top is not the best time to gather friend, you only need allies at this stage
So the best thing is never place all your trust in anyone else but God
A Mafioso has no true friends, only interest.
