Payouts, payouts!

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

I asked @hulkbuster many questions on how I can withdraw my payouts from Steemit. I asked him how can I get it without having any bank account. How can I receive it if I don't know a lot about bitcoins and such.

I created my coins.ph account.

My guardian angel, hulkbuster, told me to make a coins.ph account first. (I don't know about the others but I think it's what's used in the Philippines.) It needed a valid ID and selfie verification. My police clearance ID just expired 3 days ago so I looked for my NBI clearance. And I didn't immediately found it. When I did, I successfully registered and found out that it maybe very useful. I tried to cash in $ 2 to make sure it's good and it was awesome. What I was worried about were the wallets. There are only two: a Philippine Peso wallet and a Bitcoin wallet.

I don't know how to transfer Steem or Steem Dollars to Bitcoin.

I tried contacting my guardian angel but he's unreachable. So I googled and found the answer through my fellow steemians. Steem and SBD needs to be converted to BTC first before it could be cashed out. Click here to know how. So I chose bittrex.com and followed @mahekg's instructions. I effectively transferred my converted steem to coins.ph. It was great until...

I made a mistake.

I thought I remembered all the steps easily. After trying twice while using the "manual", I decided I could do the deposit without it. I've never been so wrong. I tried the two transfers using Steem and I transferred SBD on the third one. Steem and SBD have different memos for each transfer and I used Steem's memo to transfer SBD. I was dumb not to check the memo. Luckily,

I had help.

I was panicking and I don't know what to do. I asked @ebryans but he wasn't online. @anotherjoe was the only one online in discordapp.com so I chatted him even if I don't know him really. He was approachable and very helpful. He told me that @instructor2121 was the one who knows about those but he also advised me to contact bittrex to ask if the transaction could be reversed. And so I did. It was the middle of the night in the Philippines but I hoped bittrex could do something about it. Fortunately, bittrex let it slide, located my deposit and credited it to my accountcredit adding a reminder of not forgetting to include the proper memo in the future. (The process took less than a week.) Thank you to you all.

I did different things with my payouts.

  1. I made a virtual card.
I opened a bank account before. It was Metrobank but my mom held it for me and I don't know what happened to it. The thought of having a card again made me excited and to think it's virtual, how cool is that?

  2. I bought load.
Coins.ph is like PayMaya. You can buy load online and because we use prepaid in the Philippines, I bought load using my payouts for myself and for my mom.

  3. I paid my loans.
I'm not rich and I borrow money from friends, too. When I got my payouts, I paid my friend and used coins.ph in sending it.

  4. I gave some to my little sister.
My little sister, Kimberly is studying in Iloilo. I decided to send her some of my payouts. That's what I'll be doing after I graduate in college so why not start now, right?

So in conclusion,

I haven't received my payouts in my hands yet. No, not yet. I haven't hold them. Yet. But I will! Soon. Lol. Steem on! Mabuhay ang Steemit! Thank you for the opportunity to do what I love and earn from it.

hey @krizia! On your next transfer, shoot me a direct message and we can walk through the steps if you like. Glad to hear Bittrex straightened things out for you.

Got it sir! Thank you so much!

so from coins.ph..u still have to transfer it to a pinas bank account??
were there charges in those transactions..
steemit to bittrex to coins.ph

From steemit to bittrex tita, there are no charges but from bittrex to coins.ph, there's a 0.00020 BTC charge, if I'm not mistaken. Then, there are corresponding fees po depending on the means of transfer from coins.ph. Kapag po bank account, I think there were no additional charges. Remittance centers po ata ang meron but not Cebuana Lhuillier.

So bittrex to coins.ph meron talaga.
the idea is to do transfers without charges..am just getting ideas for future reference.Salamat.

No problem po.

And yes po tita, you could transfer ito to another bank account but you can also choose to keep it in your coins.ph account. It's also like PayMaya. Just secure your password and other security codes.

Safe ba sa coins.ph? pwede patagalin don?

Yes po tita. Safe naman po as long as no one knows your safety password and email account is secured.

that's good to know :)
