When they ask me about the Venezuelan situation I have to take a moment to sort out my ideas and be able to give an explanation as rational as possible due to 3 important factors that are difficult to understand even for those who live in the country ...

Fall of 46 points of GDP in 5 years: This figure is not seen even in areas of armed conflict, this implies that almost half of the total economy of a country has contracted, including imports and domestic production, but the level of Consumption is at least equal. This has as a consequence that access to products is more and more complicated, either because of the existence in stock or the second cause…

Hyperinflation: which is defined as the systematic increase in prices at a monthly rate of 50% according to Sagan, which implies that the increase in prices is exponential and ends up pulverizing the purchasing capacity and confidence in the internal currency, in our case It's the bolivar. An example, at this time May 3, 2018, 1 egg is equivalent to 55,000 bs - taking into account that the minimum wage is 2,550,000, that is, 2% of the total minimum wage goes to buy 1 unit of the protein more economic than we have and that in 3 days increased 10,000 bs - it is very difficult that someone who has not lived this phenomenon even when he read about it in books of economic history can understand it, taking into account that for this moment its estimated nearly 19,000 % interannual and 80% monthly, although ironically we are the only episode with Hyperinflation with shortage of physical currency.

(increase for the 3rd time so far this year)

Exchange control and parallel markers: since 2003, the 5th historical exchange control is implemented in Venezuela, but instead of being a financial instrument, it is treated as a mechanism of political control, due to the dependence of the productive sector to access a currency on the one hand and on the other the incentives to corruption due to over-invoicing or simply because of an overvalued currency where importation deprives it of export - hence internal production-

Because of that exchange control that has been maintained for 15 years, it has profoundly distorted the already battered domestic economy, but since 2013 with the fall of oil prices in the world market, the parallel dollar market has been increasing little by little. but in a sustained manner and since the second semester of 2017 the dollar's rise has exploted and was basically governed by a marker that gave a website called "Dolar today" but how it stayed static for a while long enough so that it did not respond to what was expected from that marker began to leave other sites such as Airtm and 10 more web pages, so the transaction price of the dollar is the average between the different markers and that is quoted at an estimated 850,000 bs x $, so obviously people are looking for ways to get income in international currencies, either traditional or cryptoactive currencies that can be exchanged for "hard currency" .

How important is steemit to the Venezuelans?
Taking into account the above considerations, its understandable why the market for cryptocurrencies in Venezuela has been expanding much faster - per capita - than in countries of the region even though the banking system in the country is 60-65%, which is the segment that could access to work with cryptocurrencies due to the process of banking transactions and exchange of goods.

It is important to realize that although there are many networks that are emerging at outstanding speed, in addition to new digital currencies - although many of them do not last long in the market - and that the first was the well-known bitcoin that became a milestone for the current financial structure. But within those changes there is a social network that breaks with the schemes of what was expected in them, which was basically socializing.

With Steemit something happens that is particularly different to others networks like Facebook, Instagram ... since it unifies 3 important and novel criteria, among these are:

-Social networks
-The generation of income working on the internet and,
-The new technological revolution of the cryptocurrencies that use the chain of blocks or "blockchain".

This integration achieves the best of several worlds, you look for the integration and warmth of a social network, but in turn you get income, especially taking into account that Venezuela has the highest level of electronic devices in the region so Internet penetration it is quite high for the level of crisis in the electrical and telephone sector that we have ...
On the other hand, and the most important is the credibility and trust that makes a functional financial device or currency, due to its fiduciary nature. With this it is the perfect cocktail so that it has had the reception in the Venezuelan community.

With whale-like communities of Spanish speakers like @cervantes- many Venezuelans have joined this great community - the largest in Spanish - and the most productive in terms of business and interaction. With this and because of the lucrative in comparative terms for many Venezuelans it is much more profitable to dedicate to work in steemit than to look for a job for a minimum salary that in the first place is not enough and secondly every day is less and at accelerated pace.

Similarly, it should be said that 25% of the Venezuelan population is surviving by means of remittances sent by relatives who live in the outside of the country, which is estimated at 4,000,000 inhabitants are out of the country, which it is 12% of the total population and one of the most impressive historical displacements. The point is that those who survive in this country are earning dollars, selling clothes or eating garbage, what is certain is that the quality of life of all Venezuelans - minus the highest stratum - have seen their quality decrease of life.

There is also a group of people who are not few, who use these resources that contribute from outside to make support groups, in my case I am in a social movement called #unionsocial in which in addition to train social cadres , we do activities where we support the citizens, including food days for the most needy and can make a little effrot to help, with which we can be more efficient to give a little improve in the quality of life to the people.

Finally, I must say that in Venezuela, despite everything, I see hope in the short and medium term ... what will be difficult? , definitely and also a long way ... but we are not the only ones that have gone through a tortuous process. But there are still so many people prepared and warm that fight for this country even with their nails, with hunger and needs that I cannot miss their effort, we will improve, very soon we will do it in any case platforms such as steemit and cervantes can contribute even a little with what many of us are going through.
