Steem Dashboard In Google Sheets
I'm sure there are a lot of new people here on Steemit. I'm one of them. I've been following the project for the last couple months, and I've been fascinated by the idea of getting paid to produce good original content. I assumed blockchain technology would have some role to play in making this a reality, and Steem has proven that to be correct.
Since I'm a data guy at heart I wanted a quick and easy way to view my account in Google Sheets. So I created this simple dashboard to help me keep things organized.

I'm still new to Steem so I think I've got all the numbers right, but if not please let me know.
Dashboard
To get started all you have to do is type in a user name, and it displays some basic info. Pretty simple. I'm scraping data from steemit's wallet page as well as coinmarketcap.com
Feel free to copy this sheet and modify it for your own purposes. It should be noted that if the owners of steemit.com change the wallet page the scrapper could fail. If that happens I'll probably see it and update this sheet, but if you have questions feel free to let me know.

This is awesome.... so data is coming via Google App Script? Thats the moment again where I am thinking I should have learned coding. :-)
No it's even more simple then that. GS (goolge sheets) has a formula called
importXML. I just used this formula to target the part of the site I wanted. I also used a different formula for CMC (coin market cap) calledimportHTMLwhich does kinda the same thing but is a little easier to work with.The danger of doing this is that if the HTML of the page changes the formulas break. GS does have an API type formula too called
importJSONwhich can grab data from an API, but I find it to be a little slow so I don't like to use it unless I have to.HTML changed. I've updated the sheet accordingly.
