People grew up with Windows - Microsoft made sure of that, as you are surely aware - and by inertia continue to use it.

People are generally lazy and stick with what they know. I can very easily counter-argument that the hours that I have personally witnessed being lost due to Windows issues, crashes, slowness, viruses and malware must be testament to that not being the reason.
