This is the map of worldwide remittances, according to the World Bank. Formal remittances account for 600 billion dollars per year. Some people estimate formal + informal remittances total more than a trillion dollars.
If STEEM and SBD can take a small share of it, even a tiny share, it would still be a lot!

True. Steem may not only connect people but also connect them economically at a very low cost and easy way. I see network effects ramping up here.
