At this point I would say no building a bot is not worth it... the community is very against them, and reputation points make being a bot difficult, especially if said bot posts.
Yeah, I am more interested in making a curation bot. They stay more behind the scenes. I think eventually my bot will be smart enough to be really helpful in curation. I hope to apply some machine learning to the task.
As for posting bots ... I can understand that people hate them. It is annoying most of the time. I do think that Cheetah is useful. Isaac.Asimov, I actually like. That data that Asimov generates is actually valuable. Other bots can use it to make voting decisions.
I'm not so much worried about cheetah, as cheetah accounts 1-50+. No one person should be controlling that many accounts.
