I'm Afraid of Steem / Steemit Future

First, I have been here at Steemit for over 3 years (I will be doing 4 on August 2020), so my opinion of what I think it's wrong here at Steemit should be respected, because I've walked a lot " on Steem Blockchain's road" and my opinion here should never be seen as "drama" or something like that.

Steem / Steemit (to me they are the same thing. Steemit, whether you like it or not, is still Steem's "main product") is going through a dramatic phase. I know, the crypto market has been in a depressing moment since 2017, but the fact is that Steem has no reaction, force in the market. It will be 1 year since Steem has been out of price below $ 0.20. This is worrying.

I am not a trade expert, but I am aware of other areas of the crypto market, a world that I have been fully involved with since 2011 and I know, feel and see the potential or decay of a currency and Steem is a problematic project.

Governance applied in Steem has many misconceptions, can lead to the generation of monopolies. This basis on which the Steem ecosystem is based (power and influence) in the long run is self-defeating.

I saw the creation of tokens on Steem Engine as promising, at least in the beginning. I found the idea of creating tokens based on Steem Blockchain great. But what you see today is that this effort to move Steem's economy was an illusion.

Steem has not had its price appreciated (today it seems that Steem is a "stable coin of tokens"), and I see tokens as a way for the big accounts (i.e. whales and his friends) to drain and burn Steem as much as possible. It's like wanting to "dry ice".

I'm very afraid of what will be the future of Steem / Steemit. For now, I see nothing that encourages me to stay active as I have been here for almost 4 years.

I sincerely hope that something can be done to change the Steem business mindset. Instead of this destructive mindset they can deploy here something that can really build something prosperous in the crypto market.
