Steem - Is Justin Sun's latest YouTube Video today cause for concern?

in #steem5 years ago

Every day we get a little more info regarding the Steem/Tron Partnership, the latest being a YouTube video...

Justin Sun posted a new video to his YouTube account this morning.

The video can be seen here:

The video mentions old steem coin being exchanged for new steem coin on the Tron blockchain...

Should we be concerned?

Perhaps, but not because of this video.

The video may have been posted today, but it looks like it is basically an exact copy of that original announcement made several days ago.

Back before Sun seemed to back off his coin swap/exchange comments...

Watch the video for yourself and then read this:

https://steemit.com/steemit/@jrcornel/big-news-steemit-steem-joining-tron-ecosystem

This part especially reads exactly like the YouTube video:

"Together, TRON Foundation and Steemit Inc. will look to create further value for their users and to augment their advancements in decentralized technologies, including moving old STEEM token to a new TRON based STEEM token, giveaways to the existing TRX users with the new TRON based STEEM token, as well as a new accelerator program towards the developer community."

Apart from that first sentence I believe the rest is word for word.

So, while it is still unclear exactly what is going on, I wouldn't read into that latest YouTube video as being any new information.

It looks like it was someone just reading the original announcement and it just happened to be posted today.

Stay informed my friends.

To tell you the truth, I am not comfortable at all.

It's understandable, there is a lot of conflicting information out there...

I do not like listening to a video of a dude with a cartoon lion face. Are we 5 years old?

I also think the video is nothing to worry about at the moment. I did a post today explaining why Steem most likely wont get merged into Tron from a developer point of view. Justin maybe thought that Steemit is a proprietary website with a token, where in fact Steem is a blockchain of its own, and Steemit just a DApp running on it.

Yea the video looks like it was mostly just a re-telling of the news that was already out there. Just happened to be posted today.

Sounds to me like they are telling the truth. He is not an idiot, if he says old steem will be swapped, then it will!

Youtube and almost everything on it is cause for concern lol

Quick everyone light their hair on fire and run screaming! Sell everything on this market dip! We are Dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomed I tell you!

Are steem blockchain decentralize or not if steem blockchain is decentralize and open source why who are worried?

new coin?...when?

Look at BTT token. If the new STEEM token will be airdropped to TRX users will have to increese the supply... doesn't sound good!

"Should we be concerned?"

Only if you are part of Steemit's corrupt management team, or one of Steemit's top witnesses. If you are, you have a lot to be concerned about. Otherwise, if you are among the vast majority of Steemit members, you have nothing to worry about, and in fact a lot to be grateful for. Steemit (and Steem) as we now know it, will cease to exist and along with them, Steemit's corrupt management and witness teams. For far too long, those like @themarkymark and his band of criminals, have screwed the vast majority of Steemit members out of their rightfully earned curator rewards, while at the same time filling their own greedy pockets. Tron will bring all that to end.

I have long wondered why witnesses don't decline payment on most of their posts? They are extremely well paid in comparison to authors yet they somewhat double dip by also taking from the author reward pool.

"I have long wondered why witnesses don't decline payment on most of their posts?"

Not only is it very rare to ever find a witness who will actually decline payment for their posts, but between them and Steemit's corrupt management, they have even tweaked the curator payout calculations so as to pay themselves 99% of the reward pool, and leave essentially nothing for the rest of us. Also, in order to boost their own earnings even further, they setup multiple accounts to downvote numerous other members to the point that their reputations are completely ruined and they receive nothing from the curation reward pools. And one of the worst of such abusers is @themarkymark despite the fact that he is currently in the #3 spot on of the Steemit witness chart. It's rather unfortunate that most Steemit members are simply too naive to know when they are being screwed, and ironically vote for the very same people who are screwing them out of their rewards.
