Steem dead?

After 3 years I logged into Steem site today. Earlier I bought around $1500 worth of steems by converting BTC/ETH/LTC. I see now my steem is worth of $89. Will I get my investment back with returns or steem is dead now?

I welcome the new ideas to get back the investment. Please suggest!
