Harvey Weinstein, accused of three rapes, allegedly once bragged about not needing to drug women like Cosby

Accused serial sexual predator Harvey Weinstein once bizarrely boasted that he didn’t need to drug any women for sex — unlike Bill Cosby.
The unsettling bit of braggadocio was recounted in a lengthy piece by The New Yorker that accuses the Hollywood pariah of raping three women during a two-decade stretch of predatory behavior that went unexposed.
The story, written by Ronan Farrow and posted online Tuesday, charges the recently fired Weinstein’s grotesque behavior was far worse than the sordid details exposed last week by The New York Times.
Thirteen women interviewed for the piece charged that Weinstein sexually harassed or sexually assaulted them. In addition to the rape charges, four victims claim Weinstein exposed himself or masturbated in front of them.

Among the new accusers Tuesday were a trio of Academy Award winning actresses: Mira Sorvino, Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Sorvino and “Pulp Fiction” co-star Rosanna Arquette both told the magazine they rejected Weinstein’s crude come-ons, only to find themselves removed from projects or passed over for roles.
Both suspect Weinstein, a fellow Oscar winner, was behind their career problems.
Stars Jolie and Paltrow recounted to The New York Times their own unpleasant encounters with a sexually aggressive Weinstein near the start of their careers.

The Cosby comment came after Weinstein targeted an attractive company temp named Emily Nestor, 25, and took her to breakfast in December 2014, the story reported.
Nestor told the magazine that Weinstein was soon crowing about his celebrity sexual conquests, and asking to hold her hand.
She said no, with Weinstein replying, “Oh, the girls always say no. You know, ‘No, no.’ And then they have a beer or two and then they’re throwing themselves at me.”
In a “very weirdly proud” voice, Nestor recalled, Weinstein announced “that he’d never had to do anything like Bill Cosby. It’s just a bizarre thing to be so proud of.

Dozens of women have accused Cosby of surreptitiously drugging them before he sexually assaulted the helpless victims.
Sorvino described a creepy scene where she fled a Toronto hotel room in 1995 after Weinstein “started massaging my shoulders ... and then tried to get more physical, sort of chasing me around.”
Italian movie actress/director Asia Argento charged that Weinstein forcibly performed oral sex on her. But she never went public with the story over fear of retribution from her alleged assailant.
“I know he has crushed a lot of people before,” she told Farrow. “That’s why this story — in my case, it’s 20 years old, some of them are older — has never come out.”

According to the piece, Weinstein pursued both A-listers and aspiring actresses like Lucy Evans.
Accuser Evans was a Middlebury College student when Weinstein force her to perform oral sex on him during a 2004 casting meeting at his Tribeca office.
“I said, over and over again, ‘I don’t want to do this, stop, don’t,’” the acting hopeful recounted. “He’s a big guy, he overpowered me.”
Years later, she recalled seeing Weinstein climbing into a car as she walked her dog through Greenwich Village.

“I remember getting chills down my spine just looking at him,” she said. “I was so horrified. I have nightmares about him today.”
Weinstein, 65 and married, was forced to resign Sunday from The Weinstein Co. after the Times’ expose seemed to confirm the long-rumored stories of his sexual misbehavior.
Stars accused of sexual harassment and assault
Weinstein issued a statement in response to the New Yorker story, insisting the allegations were all inaccurate.
“Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein,” read the statement from spokesperson Sallie Hofmeister. “Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances.”

Farrow’s piece asserts the opposite is true. Sixteen Weinstein employees claimed they were aware of unwanted sexual advances and groping involving their boss and women — often young actesses and models.
Among Weinstein’s staff, the various women were known as the “FOH” — friends of Harvey.
“This wasn’t a one-off,” said one executive. “This was ongoing predatory behavior toward women, whether they consented or not.”
The New Yorker story also details the 2015 episode where Italian model Ambra Battilana alleged that Weinstein groped her during a “business meeting” in his office.

Although authorities had an audio tape of Weinstein apologizing for what happened, the Manhattan district attorney opted not to file charges.
“If we could have prosecuted Harvey Weinstein for the conduct that occurred in 2015, we would have,” said Chief Assistant DA Karen Friedman-Agnifilo on Tuesday.
“While the recording is horrifying to listen to, what emerged from the audio was insufficient to prove a crime under New York law.”
French actress Emma de Caunes recounted her own terrifying sexual encounter with Weinstein a few months after they met at the Cannes Film Festival.
He invited her to a lunch meeting at the Hotel Ritz in Paris, and then asked her to his room to give her a book under consideration for a movie adaptation.
An aroused Weinstein instead came out of the bathroom completely naked and told her to lie on the bed.
“I was very petrified,” de Caunes recounted. “It was like a hunter with a wild animal. The fear turns him on.”
When the actress declared she was leaving, a disappointed Weinstein made a reference to G-rated children’s film fare.
“We’ve haven’t done anything!” de Caunes recounted him saying. “It’s like being in a Walt Disney movie!”
