Ancient era, man calculate use stone henge ( in Salisbury Inggris ), knot rope ( in Quipus Peru) some even use bones (Napier Bones) Then develop by creating a mechanical counting tool like: Pascalline created by Blaise Pascal 1642 and Babbage’s Analytical Engine created by Charles Babbage a mathematician 1833.

The next human created an electronic device that we know by the name of the calculator, Calculators can be classified as computers that perform basic arithmetic calculations.

Computers are progressing very fast. The speed of the computer in processing the data is also growing very fast. The speed of data processing by the computer is determined by the main components used by it ie processor.

Based on the processor used as the main component, the computer has the following developments:

• First Generation Computers (1940 - 1959)

First generation computers are very large. Its height reaches 2.18 m, exceeding the average height of Europeans in general.

• Second Generation Computers (1959-1964)

Using the main component of the transistor processor. Please note that the transistor was discovered by three people namely DR John Bardeen, DR Walter H. Brattain, and DR William Shockley at Bell Laboratory in 1947.

• Third Generation Computers (1964-1970)

Using the main component of the processor is 1C (integrated Circuits). 1C is also called a chip, is a combination of transistors, resistors (resistors), and capacitors (capacitor) in a circuit.

• Fourth Generation Computers (1970-1977)

Using the main component of the processor is LSI (Large Scale Integrated). LSI is 1C on a large scale.

• Fifth Generation Computer (1977-2017)

Using the main component of the processor is VLSI (Very Large Scale Integrated). VLSI is 1C on a very large scale.
VLSI is also called a micro processor (micropocessor) discovered in 1971 by Intel Co. At that time a micro-processor consisted of 2250 transistors.
