Question: to bot or not to bot, that is the question?

Being new to steem, I am wonderkng about upvote bots. What do you think about them? What is the general consensus of the steem comminity about bots?

Can a new steemairian grow steem organically or do minnows need bots to get noticed enough to generate steem?
