"Experiment" ResponsesteemCreated with Sketch.

I don't know whether I'll be back on Steemit tomorrow or not. This "experiment" will prove nothing beyond the frustration content creators feel when their audience is countermanded by self-righteous whales who think they know better than anyone else.

Votebots are a problem, but not a severe one, and not one that is properly addressed by flagbots.

Curation guilds have potential for abuse, but are not inherently a problem.

The disproportionate weight of whale votes is a problem, but negating whale votes does not address the root issue, and denies the whales the opportunity to curate beneficially. Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Steem on, but maybe take a break until after this mess blows over.

Sort:

they had to destroy Steemit in order to save it.

A downvote was applied to partially counter earlier whale votes as an experiment to reduce whale domination of voting influence. Not intended to express an opinion on the content nor result in a net reduction of rewards or reputation (automated notice)

Bullshit on the reason. It's @smooth being an attention whore.

This is NOT an automated notice.

On Steemit you don't take a break until mess blows over. Beneficial curation takes break until mess blows over you.

You'll be missed. I hope this sh&t show ends soon.

Dare I suggest democracy?. One man one vote, open and read before you vote, split the daily pot by the number of votes, That is your share. Without the people posting what have we got?.

Weighted votes makes sense. I don't have a problem there.

Flagging spam makes sense. I don't see a problem there.

Flagging content because you disagree with the rewards or the support someone else has shown is a problem that needs a good solution. This bullshit is not a good solution, it's adding catastrophe on top of a problem.

Liberty, equality, fraternity. Open and read before you vote. Then you know what you are voting for. Blind, robotic, reactionary voting is B S

I agree in that the point of posting is primarily to share ideas, and that can't be done if stuff is unread. Upvotes that reflect only a computer algorithm add nothing of value to the network.

If you had to read first, vote using a number, not money, and at the end of the day divide the pot by the numbers. that should even out the playing field, if your post is good you should be paid for it, but at least it would have been read first. Do the old French Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, and off to Madame Guillotine they go.

keep calm & steem on.
but I agree. ;)
