STEEM has a heartbeat. STEEM blockchain is alive. It has UPs and DOWNS. Happiness and sorrows. Do you feel it too?
Sometimes I have fun on steem, sometimes it feels like work. Wonder why you're still here?
That's the problem with new things... eventually they aren't new, facinating and exciting anymore.
You find yourself... reminding yourself... why you spend so much time.
That's human nature.
I'm human, and so are you.. our emotions can get the best of us sometimes. When something stops becoming fun, it feels like work.
To give an example...
Have you ever planted a vegetable plant for the first time? How about growing your own tomato plant? The first time you do it... it's amazing to watch it sprout tomatoes and even better to harvest them for the first time.
Go ask a tomato farmer how exciting it is, after 19 years planting tomatoes to get excited by it anymore. The only thing he'll tell you is the last time he had a huge tomato grow, and other than that... the excitement of planting your own crop wore off years ago.
"Now it's just work... to pay the bills", he'd say...
Is the steem the blockchain "just work"... to earn money... to pay the bills?
Some days I feel like it. I'll be honest. If you're not at that point right now.. one day you might find yourself at that point.
Obviously, I've put a lot of thought into this, and that's the reason for this post...
...for me, being a blogger on steem isn't just about repetition. It's not about just making money. Doing a repetitive task "just for the money" is work. I hate work... they say "if you do what you love as a career, it is the best job you will ever have and it is not work".
As I type this, I don't know if anyone will like what I have to say, or if this will be a post worth only a few dollars.
....and it doesn't matter
Steem - the blockchain is making history. It's going to the moon whether I'm here, you're here or not. It's a new invention that has surpassed its first year of business and doing extremely well.
Look at this image:
We're going somewhere special with all of us.. and you, me, and the person creating an account as you read this... is also going to be part of something big.
Sometimes we need to remind ourselves of the obvious...
Where else in the entire internet, can you possibly sit there and type out a letter to the abyss, and not know how it will be received until you do it?
Your facebook friends and facebook families will "like" your stuff often just to be polite, because they like you.
....that is not the same thing we have here.
I know my words, are on YOUR screen right now. I took the time to write them... most people don't have the time to read them. But you did! Whoever is reading this right now... you're special to me. Whoever upvotes this is special to me. Whoever comments this post is special to me.
I don't need 3,000 special people to upvote, comment, or praise me for my writings..
...but if there is just 1 or 2 people that enjoy my writings, that is why I write... it was worth the time I spent doing it. For you.
That's rewarding for me. I like that I can do this for you.
..and there is a hidden bonus in this steem blockchain
My words "AND" your words are preserved in the blockchain forever now. That's cool. We have a daily time capsule of life.
What if 100 years from now, when life is completely different than we know today, sometime reads this, long after you and me are both dead. But there is something there that they like about it?
As history gets created.. and preserved, normally it is done with records, texts, published official recounts of what happened.
Not with steem. RAW conversations from me and you, the very people who are alive August 2017 is happening now. Not edited, not repackaged, not checked whether or not it is suitable for publication for our future ancestors.
This is raw data that is saved, witnessed and will be available later.
This is the internet, and free-speech, and time-capsule stuff for our future generations at its finest.
Can blogging feel like work sometimes? Sure.
Is this whole thing we're participating in about money? It can seem like it sometimes, yes.
Are we doing future humanity good? I do believe so. We're recording history without even realizing it.
Love you all... that's my mind for today. Share yours.

About 50 years ago,me,my younger sister and brother, made a Time Capsule.I thought it was so cool.(I forgot what we put in it) We buried in the home I grew up in, in Astoria, Queens, New York. A few years ago,I asked my sister if she would dig it up,but she couldn't find it.
Now the house has been sold.
Someday, someone may come across this, and I hope they find it as fantastic as we thought it would be when we made it!
Thanks for your post!
Interesting. Was is it in a tin box? Did anyone try to use a metal detector to find it?
I like the way how your mind works @intelliguy. Nice example of using a tomato farmer also, well done and so creative. :) I agree with your post, I think there is really a future for Steem. Let's just hope, wait and see. Remember, all labor will result to better fruits.
...thank you for taking the time to comment... and I love the reaction.
Shhhh.. secret thing I do.. when I curate content, I go back to meaningful comments exactly like yours and go see what they write. You're on my list now. I'll go visit you. :)
You're welcome @intelliguy. Looking forward for your future posts. I know that amazing contents will be published soon. I really like how the way you deliver your thoughts. Kudos!
I think you spoke the words a lot of us feel but leave it unsaid. To thing my grandchildren can possibly come across my steem ramblings an pictures is pretty cool. Maybe it is something to consider, in a will, telling them to look my name up and read about the things that made me tick. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Very insightful.
Didn't even think of grandkids... but you're right! (Well I suppose I did, but you saying it made it even more obvious.. it's true. Thanks for that)
Very interesting @intelliguy. It is a lot to think about on many levels. You are a very smart guy, and I am really happy to find your posts on my feed now. Thanks
Thanks. What I do is let my heart take over, and use my brain to fix spelling mistakes. lol. :)
I mean every word I write, and I sincerely thank you.
I enjoyed it :)
Even some of the blog posts that I was frustrated with that I didn't earn more on I was glad I put them up because I was able to look back at them and have the pictures up as an archive!
See? :) You validated it. The steem historical blockchain can actually have more value than we actually identify with on a daily basis. Thanks for the comment. :)
You are a GOOD man @intelliguy - I appreciate and hope to share your optimism for the growing future of tha Steemit. I am nearly ninety days in, sitting on just a buck~fiftie~eight....watching everyone else earn dubble that off a single post of some 'ok' gal in a bikini or 'travel-me' blog to Tokyo lol
You are one of the few who makes this place worthwhile and I thank you again for that good sir
Don't look at the $ signs... look at the reasons why....
How many followers do they have? How many comments have they put on people's blogs? How much steem power does the writer have already? How much do they upvote their commenters? There's probably 75 reasons why this is happening for them, and the "subject line" of the post has very little to do with it.... See if you can investigate and reverse engineer their success in some way.
Surprising this isn't one of your very long full with info post , but actually give even more food for thoughts . I don't know what is blogging i never did before i first joined here . Facebook was not my favorite maybe some games etc ... Maybe sometimes my posts aren't the best , maybe sometimes people disagree , but you know what on end I can say i am me ! Blogging is not work, so far , is fun for me , i hope will stay like this long time :)
Totally agree, I've been trough a lot of emotions this month I've been on steemi, most of those were good ones, but I can't forget my frustration moments. We are going somewhere with this, helping each other, sharing what everyone has to say, and being patience while this grows. Great post man, I'm a big fan of your articles.
I can't seem to forget my frustration moments either. Sometimes I feel like I'm reliving them non-stop. It's only when people, like yourself, make golden comments.. that I remember why I spend the time and effort to share.. and thank you so much for doing the same. :)
