Where Will SteemIt Be 5 Years From Now?
With all the hype around SteemIt and blockchain in general right now I think it's time to slow the train down a little bit and not forget what the #1 important thing our focus should be on, security. It has happened all too many times where a business starts to rapidly grow, projects their future growth based on current hype and end up burning themselves in the long run. And this does not only apply to blockchain technology, many businesses like Krispy Kreme suffered terribly by expanding way too rapidly for their own good because media coverage at the time was at it's peak and who seen it turning into just a quick fad?
Remember TheDAO? Please let's not get too carried away and think everything is alright, because you can bet your ass their are troves of hackers out there working on breaking SteemIt as I type this. Everything must be done to ensure the security of the blockchain and of this public forum.
I am a huge fan of Steem & I see it having a ton of potential, and that is exactly the reason I want us to always be wary and on the look out. It is very exciting to get paid a good amount for making a worthwhile post, but what good is it if all of it ends up stolen in the end regardless?
If things are taken slow, if security is the #1 priority of the devs minds, then I see no limitations to where this platform could lead to.

Just good common sense sometimes is the best and I sure hope that our security is the first thing they think about when they log in.....
In five years, I foresee Steemit becoming completely inundated with people trying to make a quick buck when they can't even write a legible, pertinent blog, or article. There's a lot more to engaging your audience than googling the most hype buzzwords for your title. Imagine trying to wade through hundreds of pages of worthless garbage when attempting to find useful info. This is already becoming a problem.
