So Steem Dollars are little bit like Tether Dollars (in a way) and have constant value - Steem can be trading on an exchange for Bitcoin and USD but is volatile whereas Steem Power is a long term investment and gives you a lot of power on the forum. But I note you can also trade directly on exchanges with Steem Dollars.
