You maybe interested in this project then. If I understand correctly you buy there tokens on bitshares exchange and then give them back to the project to "stake" where they then pay out in Steem bi-monthly, I think, in Steem based on said stake. Then if you want you can power down and then sell the tokens on bitshares.
It is a different model. If we consider @minnowbooster as an DApp. By buying BUILDTEAM token, we can buy stake in @minnowbooster. Yes, any token can be traded in Bitshares exchange.
However, one can't get any BUILDTEAM token by delegating SP.
