Differences in Steem Prices between CoinGecko and CMC

I took the above screen shots a few moments ago, 09:11 UTC on Monday July 23, 2018. The top one is from https://www.coingecko.com/en/price_charts/steem/usd and the other one is from https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/steem/#charts. Do you see the big difference in the price they are showing? I mean if you just go to Coingecko I'll bet you would be very happy, unfortunately probably it is CMC that has the correct price, or at least close to it.

Now, I would really like to know why is there such a difference, the same thing happened a few weeks ago with the price of SBD and I saw a few explanations none of which really made much sense, because the price difference was very noticeable in several exchanges. Now it is Steem's turn. Are the big guys playing with us?
