One Yeti's Perspective #287: Creating For Creators

in #steem6 years ago

So on the Steem blockchain, there is something that is very clear .... We are creating content that is being consumed by other creators.

Not that this is bad, but we are not currently being consumed on a large scale like facebook or youtube. There seems to be a good mix of people that share just to share, and others that post deep quality content.

As we grow in the evolution of the blockchain and SMTs, we should grow in consumability. One key to this is to not splinter communities. Often times communities become splintered when individuals feel they can do something better. Instead of working together, they create something else.

It isn't hardfork 21 that will show us what is really happening, but it is 6 months after. When the smoke clears and everyone sees the communities that are strongest.

If consumers are able to find the content they are looking for easily....it will benefit everyone.

Be well. Be encouraged. Be radical.

Thanks for another video @freedompoint.

I personally think that being able to splinter a group is healthy. It won't feel good for the groups that get splintered but it will ultimately ensure that only the best communities survive. It will also ensure that the best communities remain the best communities if they want to survive (or thrive).

Imagine if people could have splintered away from Facebook, YouTube or Amazon without losing any of their data, views, uploads or content - I imagine that the conglomerates would be treating their users better if that were possible.. but it's not.

The large conglomerates make it nearly impossible to 'splinter' their groups and sometimes they remain in place solely because they are already firmly established as opposed to providing the most value.

Thanks again @freedompoint as I really enjoy our discussioms 😊
