The hard-fork happened 1 week ago, but the larger power-downs just started rolling in today. In the last hour if you look at the transfers to poloniex, you will see a very large amount of Steem being moved there https://steemit.com/@poloniex/transfers .

I do not personally think the price will stay low very long, but I do think there will be a large sudden impact of more sellers than buyers. If you are looking to pick up some cheap steem, I would suggest now would be a good time to place real low buy-orders.
