The sixth post I published on Steem.
I was still busy experimenting and all was super eclectic, much more than my regular feed but that was a golden rule I knew.
After 10 days I think I was more like, wtf is this.....
My profile lost its virginity because of shadowbot resteems in those first few days. 😂
But yeah, I had already grasped curation and even discovered that f4f/v4v thing. Which little later I would write about it didn’t add value.
“Tribe building” is what it’s at and has been ever since days of “you built it, they come” are over (around 2003 when optimizing for Google and MSN search became a thing).
And now, with always more players vying for that same limited pool, on ever more dApps, social capital will become even more a thing.
But... be wary for the “gurus”. Everyone has an agenda. Most revolve around .self.
Social media specialist Gary V. says it takes 18 months. 18 Months to build sufficient profile, to grow your tribe, to actually start considering revenue.
In blogging that may also include sufficient traffic to add up affiliate revenue. And decent beginner SEO knowledge.
Steem isn’t different. It has its own specifics but it’s all about the same still: don’t focus on $$$ but focus on building your tribe. That will eventually lead to $$$.
Do the opposite and you will give up before you achieved anything to write home about.
