Good post, I am working on a bot to downvote spam comments, by working on I mean learning to program with that as my goal. If interested you can find my post on my blogs page.
As for shit post spam, I don't have a problem with that, they likely make nothing from it and just hurt there rating.
I really hate to do this, and I know it makes me a bad person, but as you made the mistake twice I need to point it out, you wrote than instead of then. Ahhhhh when did I become that guy that corrects people, I hate myself
I think the mental must be changed on steemit . The people thinking must be changed ....
how you want to do that? you can not control the mass. Like @fiveboringgames said i think a bot to downvote spam posts is a good thing.
But if the mass come we aint seeing nothing yet. the mass is not a good writer nor blogger nor are they a astronaut with moon stories.

Good point hopefully by the time that happens we will have more filter options, or more specialised topics
