Why I Don't Care About The Prices & Neither Should You!
Hello guys, i hope you aren't going crazy after watching the prices dropping! Yeah you heard right, if you are one of those that sill haven't, the prices are dropping like hell but fear not i am here for you, as your guardian angel, your lifesaver,your motivator, your brother, your father, your grandpa!
Some of you know that yesterday i conducted an experiment and i mentioned that today i would reveal more about the reasons behind as well as continuing with the second phase. Apparently, i am not gonna do that today due to the price drops (everything happens in real time, i can't change the reality :p) but i am promising to do it tomorrow.
In times of crypto-crisis like this i am always making a similar post, cause there are way too many people that are panicking, scared and lose any hope regarding cryptos. Also, i should mention here that i am not an expert so whatever i am gonna say is purely due to my experience here and nothing more!
Why I Don't Care About The Prices & Neither Should You
First of all i should say that in a way you have to change your mindset in order to achieve the "i don't give a fuck" level! I'll give you more details about that in a bit and at this point i believe what i am about to say, you already have heard it a lot, but it's true!
1) Come for the Money, Stay for the Community
The number one factor that led most of us to join this platform was money. If someone says otherwise, he/she will probably be a bad liar.It's also important to mention that the vast majority joined when the prices were extremely high (1 Steem=3-4$, 1 SBD=8-10$) but quickly left when dropped. The people that remained, in my opinion did it cause a) of the community b) saw the potential!
Let's talk about the community cause the potential is a bit subjective for person to person. It's an undeniable fact that compared to facebook,instagram and other social media the chances to find trolls and people making fun of you are extremely low. Also, if you ask someone something the people in here will be more than happy to help you out or refer someone that might know the answer.
Moreover, there are many communities and now Dapps (and their own communities) that have more specific target groups. For instance you can join communities that are of the same ethnicity-country as you, or communities that are dedicated to sciences,recycling,fitness, health, comedy,writing,poems,anime, so you are not completely alone or limited.
I don't say to erase the money aspect from your minds, but don't consider it as first priority cause you gonna end up panicking, having stress and quit sooner or later. Find things in here and people that you love, enjoy talking to, consider interesting and everything will follow ( i can't guarantee the rhythm though)
Take into consideration that early adopters like me really don't care that much as we saw the price of steem being way less than that. For example, when i joined and for a long period of time the price of Steem was at 0,07$ so even if it reaches 0,15$ i will still be ok in a way!
2) In the Midst of Chaos there is also Opportunity
This quote is something Sun Tzu said not me many many years ago. Apparently it's true that anyone you can do/say and Asian can do/say better! In my opinion the prices are increased and drop all time, at least that's what i am watching for these past 2 years.
If you check closely you will see that the drops are not that big. It may seem like it but in fact you have never seen bitcoin reaches 2000$ and only then something maybe going wrong. The truth is that many people have invested tons of money in some cryptos and these people aren't the average guy like you and me. We are talking about rich, influential people that can even manipulate the market. I don't think that these people don't know what's going on and are going to lose their money.
My guess and belief is that at times like this, it's the best opportunity to buy some cryptos. If you think it, it's like an early BLACK CRYPTO FRIDAY! A lot of people that know their stuff will take advantage of this drop and buy cheap cryptos. Sooner or later that the prices will go up again (cause i have never seen the prices constantly dropping) they'll have some profits.
Conclusion
The essence of what i said is have the money aspect of Steemit as a second-third priority in your daily life and also that at time of chaos like this one try and see the investment opportunities other people are taking advantage of!

I also hope to see more people focusing on the actual fundamentals. Fundamentally, nothing has changed. The tech is being developed on a daily basis, people are still posting, and new projects are coming along almost every week.

yea exactly but you know how the mindset of most work. Drop in prices=Disaster, thus they only care about the money aspect! Ahhh i wished i had some bucks to go and buy 1 bitcoin and a few litecoins :P
Also, cause of the drop in prices i won't upvote the comment cause it will drop a bit more and it gonna worth nothing. Also it depletes my vp. I will upvote one of your latest post though! (i have in a tab for 2 days now your post about the diff between crypto and fiat :P)

On the positive side, at least there is now action on the market. With this price some people are likely to buy the dip compared to a stagnant price. XD
Also good thing I've cashed out some liquid Steem yesterday before it dipped this low lol
True! Still 100% better than other social media platforms. I still can't believe how many people here complain for almost everything when in fact most are just being handed free money just by posting/commenting/upvoting lol (except those who have big investments though)
the real question is what did you buy with it :P
i can't believe that most people don't even make the right complains :P there are issues that i believe keep down some of the potentials this platform has but they just don't see it and literally complain about everything else. It reminds me of the sjw community :P

haha i have stopped caring about the money aspect, steemit is more like a hobby to be nowadays. Sure if things go well in the future i might earn a couple of bucks along the way and i will be very happy when that happens. For now i just wanna relax write whatever comes in my head, comment,reply, read the posts of others and learn more about the cryptos/trading along the way!

even if it goes down to $0.01 i don't care, i'll buy a few thousand dollars worth cuz i believe it's severely underpriced.

wouldn't that be cool? for steem to go to 0,01$ for a couple of days, bitcoin to 1000$ or less and then right back to the moon :P how many millionaires will be born :P
Like the average Steemian! I just wanna show them that the 50k daily active accounts is not even close to the actual number if we exclude bots,alt accounts,curation trails,autovoting services etc etc and that maybe partly an answer as to why we don't see new comments, that much visibility, new followers,new upvotes, "new faces".... The number is way lower of the active users and the automation level is very high, add the low prices too and we can see why in a way this place looks dead and answer the above questions!
that's a reason i told so many times i like your initiative with the comments, even though it may attract some "good post sir" type of people that only come for the rewards it's still boosts the interaction greatly!

but there's also a % of genuine people (which steem is lacking right now). data shows that steem activity is on a constant decline (not surprised because when you ask a new user to pay to vote,comment,post, it doesn't work 😐
i'm super disappointed with steem right now. not unless it becomes more decentralized (away from steemit inc and ned) and provide a better alternative to the platforms that we're so sick of, it's eventually gonna go away. i just hope it doesn't happen.

Α οκ.. Καλό θα ήταν να το μειώσουν κάμποσο πάντως γιατί μετά δεν ξέρω τι νόημα έχει... Τα έχεις απλά εγκλωβισμένα μέσα και τα κοιτάς.. Δεν λέω βέβαια ότι αν ανέβει θα τα σηκώσω όλα γιατί θέλω να συνεχίσω να γράφω εδώ.. Απλώς θα έχεις να λες ότι έβγαλα και κάτι..
νομιζω οτι η λογικη η καποια λογικη ειναι οτι αν πχ ο χρονος ηταν μηδαμινος για μετατροπη sp σε steem τοτε κατα καποιον τροπο χανει την αξια το sbd κ γινεται τελειως unbalanced το συστημα αφου με μιας πχ θα μπορει να βγαλει ο αλλος οτι ποσο θελει.
