Seems like a good idea. Keeping money locked up in SBD does nothing for you. I would say trade it out for something you can use in your daily life or buy Steem with it.
I've been on Steemit less than a week so I don't have much SBD to exchange but you can be sure that I will buy Steem as soon as I get my first few payouts.
