58 people were killed, in addition to the gunman, in the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history. The number of injured was revised to 489, 317 of whom have been released from hospitals. The gunman was identified as Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada. They said he acted alone. Investigators said they found 47 firearms in three locations, including Paddock's room at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and his home. President Donald Trump, who visited Las Vegas on Wednesday, called the shooting "an act of pure evil."
