The Story of Steem

He conceived of something FINE....idealistic and pure. He and Ned, then proceeded to build Steemit. They (I assume...this is prehistory to me) had an Initial Coin Offering (or something similar)...investments were invited. They got some.



It's a law of nature...money attracts flies..or in this case evil whales...they too invested...in fact they acquired a controlling interest...and someway, somehow...influenced the code (all speculation..I, unlike Brian Williams, was NOT there)

The price of Steem SOARED...in July of last year it reached $4.

WHAT PUMP!

Then the dumping began.

with a twist...
the evil whales had cloned a great many accounts...and attached 'bots to control them.

Evil Whales with evil bots..
......reaping havoc among the schools of minnows and dolphins..



The multiple bot-whale accounts... 'followed that whale'...their master. What ever the master posted was up-voted by it's bot harvesters.

The code had been rigged...the POWAH was exponentially greater for higher rates of SteemPower...if a whale had ten times more SteemPower than a dolphin did it did NOT have just ten times the power...(exponential meant a hundred or a thousand times the POWAH..

BUT WAIT..there was more...shamefully more...the power of the FLAG

is connected in that same fashion to SteemPower.

When a dolphin, much less a minnow or plankton, flags a whale...not much happens. ..barely and itch
When a whale flags anyone..

His army of robot whales does too...the impudent dolphin is obliterated.

THUS....
The price of Steem began it's decline.

This was all ancient history to me. I knew nothing of it at the time. I joined Steemit in August of 2016..the price was going down...down...down. I had no idea why. I could have bailed..a great many did.

But why? I had been blogging, commenting, and blowtorching snowflakes on FaceBook for free...why not do the same thing on Steem? I had zero dollars invested...just my time.

So I staid on..

The price of steem continued to decline...
...Steem went from over four dollars to just over four cents..

But it didn't die....odd that.
It just kept going and going like the ever-ready bunny.

I was there...(Brian Williams wasn't...I looked)

And then....
....a miracle happened...god may reached down from valhalla (after a detour thru nirvanna to pick up some cigars and beer) maybe...

Or perhaps some of the Whales saw the light.
There was a war among the whales...

The evil whales backed off...the other sea mammals were given a breather..

Then

HardFork 18

The bad whales and their minions fought it tooth and nail..but the good whales prevailed..
then the price of steem began to rise...slowly...tentatively at first..

Now here we are...the price of steem is approximately where it was when I joined in august...and the bad whales are on the run...

HardFork 19 is coming..

and the bad whales?
