Oh...I agree.

I begrudging use OriginalWorks occasionally in order to show that I'm not a bot.

An upvoting bot is no different than a article or comment making bot.

upvoting bots are the major reason for spam.
why spend hours (or even a few minutes) carefully crafting an article when you get a MUCH greater return on time invested by slinging spam?

Looks like we are the only two that care.

pretty much.
many others protest a lot.
but secretly like it.
they are in on the scam.

Bots are the reason I
WOULD NOT
invest any money is Steemit.

If you upvote shit with minnowbooster you will get downvoted, lose followers and only earn hate.

Used correctly for good posts you can close the gap between minnows and whales and get some attention you would otherwise not get.

Upvote bots ain't the problem. People simply go where the money is. And if you want money you better already have some or you are forced to use bots because otherwise, you will be forever unknown on steem.

The real problem is that you can make money on steem. Money decides who will get attention. And if you have none you will stay a nobody.

The rich get rich & the poor will stay poor (unless they break the rules and do whatever they can). Welcome to capitalism.

nope..not true.
it's possible to start from zero and make a LOT of money on Steemit.
PapaPepper has done it..
(no one said it was easy)

capitalism (the freemarket) is a GOOD thing...very much to preferred to any other economic system.

Yeah that is possible, but I will use the system and all that it offers to increase my profits here.

Ignoring the tools that are available for moral reasons ain't how I work.

I would not die with regrets knowing I used a bot to make money. A lot of rich people nowadays did a lot of questionable things to reach the top and nobody cares anymore.

The best and most extreme example would be Hillary Clinton. The attention her fucked up behavior gets is minimal for what she has done.

2nd time I hear about "PapaPepper" today. Time to check out his blog.

did you just say that you have no morals?

I want to ask a question, how a BOT like this will be received:

  • Free to use just need to follow the issuing user.

  • Upon summoning, leaves a encouraging message and up-votes from a 8k SP trail at a variable percentage depending in the merit points the summoner accumulates for using the bot.

  • It votes very lowly on self summonings and depending on the merit points can even cast 100% votes

  • Merit points are earn on curation quality and supporting of users by means of advice given in the summoning comment (which might also earn a manual vote from the trail)

  • The users can call vote power it will be ignored if the merits points don't allow for and will default to the merit point level.

  • The bot pays for itself by voting its comments at the lowest possible VP% and if positive return use it to lease SP delegation.

  • People can join the trail with flexible settings to help by making the trail weight stronger or vote the comments for support which in turn will give the summoner merit points based not on the $ of the vote, but on the weight of the vote, so a minnow with no SP vote will provide the same merit points a whale vote would... actually probably more, because it is based on vote weight % not on VESTS

So would the comment be considered spammy? And the self votes on them would be considered abusive?

It would be received poorly by me.
I mute each and every bot that I identify.
