The State of Steem
In the beginning...was the block chain...the market looked at it and said

Meh!
Not much happened from April 18 of 2016 until July 11 of the same year.
Three to four months of MEH!
THEN it happened...
In mere hours the price of Steem went from about forty cents to over four dollars.
Mere hours!
It peaked, fell like a rock, peaked again,...then the long slide began
the price fell for MONTHS...finally in October....
It hit bottom...at about five cents...
Then the long march began.
The cowards were already gone..
they'd bailed when the price began to fall.
the weak died along the way.
the price was FLAT...at about a dime.
Some few...so very few...held out..
blogging our hearts out...
we'd make a penny off a post..
we were lucky...perhaps a nickel
but we held on.
Then came that day...
first stage...
then the second stage about a month later..
the the downhaul...again..
but it NEVER declined to what it was before.
It never dropped to the floor
It had been a year since steemit had launched the first time.
the longhaulers never quit
from Jul of 17..
there were some ups and downs..
but nothing spectacular.
the lows weren't very low.
but neither were the high.
then came the day to remember..
that day in november when..
the next stage ignited..
the price went up and up...
it reached it's previous high of over a year ago...
then it began to fall off...
would there be another long crawl like the two times before?
HELL NO!
Steem got serious.
In the span of but a few hours.
the price of steem went from $3.00 to $8.00
It almost tripled in price in half a day.
(I was there...slightly drunk before it was over)
It's fallen off again since then ..but it's
STILL
not
$0.041...as it was for so long
not
$0.41 as it was for quite a while.
NOPE
it's jumped the decimal
the price is at $4.00 and has been for several days..
is the price of steem resting ups...
is it going to
who knows?
....................in other news....................
There's some Red.
the market has a tummy ache.
what NOW?
Steem retains it's Billion Dollar market cap
but it's falling.
we'll see what happens.
we live in interesting times
$4 is still pretty impressive compared to one year ago. I mean I’d like to see it touch $9 again but maybe when the SMT come out
Crypto is all about ups and downs, but rather they keep the income in pockets, they should expand its market to more.levels to cover its market caps. Crypto is revolution, freedom from Banking system.

Beautiful illustration...base on the price action I have seen, I could say with some confidence if SBD jumps, Steem would follow, as most people would use SBD to acquire more Steem, and it would take away some of the selling pressure away from Steem
yup...but don't forget that Steem/SBDs tend to follow the general market pretty close..that would be bitcoin..which may be going UP as we speak
was the decline in Steem/SBD price related to bitcoin...or something else?

ups & downs always happened in Crypto. But Steem at $4 is still impressive as compared to one year ago.

Wow! how many situations have been presented around the value of the Steem but it seems to have been strengthened after all; because it has resisted to lower of the $ 4. I hope we do not go back to those 5 cents...For now, my contribution is to continue working hard in Steemit, in good times and bad.

I joined steemit August last year.
I guess I was lucky to have seen the good times.
But I have also held out during the little bad times we had. Its survival of the fittest, let the impatient ones go and let the resilient stay

yup..it's common...VERY common....almost every hour.
methinks that we are experiencing one right now with steemdollars
notice the gray graph? Someone DUMPED a bunchaton of SteemDollar about midnight....and the price of SBDs started down...down..down. I expect to see a PUMP pretty soon. It may have already started.
