how many $$$ is my upvote worth?

i wanna know how many $$ a post will get from my upvote before i click the button. the website should uh, show it somewhere?

and it might be nice if u eli5 explain the voting power and rshares stuff. ive read a little but it looks real complicated

    Your up votes value depends upon many factors:

    1. How much steem power you have
    2. How many other votes are cast before and after yours
    3. How many votes are cast for everything else
    4. The market cap of steem.

    This is still in very early beta. Public launch is set for July 4th, by which time your questions should be easily answered. Right now, you still have to do a lot of research to know how everything works. The whitepaper is available at steem.io
