Posting Reward Rate Limiting
I was not here when that happened but It looks at HF 12 had introduced an algorithm which lowers post rewards after the fourth post on the same day.
"Each account can post up to 4 top-level posts per day before a new algorithm will kick in. The new algorithm will start taxing any rewards you earn on additional posts in the same day. Here is a chart that shows how your posting rewards will fall in percentage terms for each additional consecutive post."
It can be easily gamed with multiple account posting, though.

Anyone knows why this is disabled later on?
Yeah, it can be gamed, but there is a lot of autovoting. Your other accounts wont necessarily get the same traction
the cynical side of me says it was repealed to enhance @ranchorelaxo's voting experience. /s
Yeah pretty sure this was rolled back. If I remember correctly I found @dan talking about it being removed on Github in the past somewhere. interested if you or anyone else manage to dig up a discussion that happened about it.

Of course, I've never wanted to make 5 posts in one day...

4 or 5 posts is good even for some busy days, where ideas just pop into my head.
