Steem on Netcoin: So Much More Than $30,000

The rally to get steem listed on Netcoins for free worth about $30,000 has picked up a notch, seeing steem catapulted to the top of the listings. It took longer than (I) expected considering our numbers and the way we often stress on the value of community without really understanding the intricates.

I actually read a comment by a user on the Post by ned to publicize our need to vote on the Netcoin platform why steemit Inc simply does not pay the $30,000 with 'our money'. I was tempted to go on attack mode with the user but ultimately decided against it. However, it feels to me that we deliberately miss out on the full essence of what steem represents and have reduced it to its barest form - A money making scheme.

It is not like Steemit Inc is starved of $30,000 to pay directly for a listing, at least that is what the figures tell us. The rally was especially necessary more as a learning experience than any other thing. It shows us our ability to organize and get together quickly, as well as take actions for the good of steem. It also showed in a way the level of active users and those who actually 'care' enough to grow the platform.

For the last couple of days I have felt like an equal participant in the steem manifesto by voting, knowing fully well that my vote is actually worth something this time around. Perhaps we all needed a competition like this to remind us that steem growth requires a community effort.

I definately feel the same way!
Really good post.

So much yes! It ain't just about the money even though while it got us all here, people are the glue that have kept me here.

Well I planned to make a post with the exact same thoughts after the end of the contest. No need for it now 😂

Lool great minds...

All these comments would have gone unpaid since they were below the 0.02 limit. Now they won't. *Self-pats on the back

You are a nice man.

Yes! I have felt the same way. It's good to see a large community effort come together like this. When I look at projects on here like steemmonsters etc they all seem so separated by "niche" or "community".

Isn't Steem suppose to be 1 BIG community?

I believe in Niches and community, but we all are part of the larger steem network and must not forget that

Well Said! This is the value of our community in action... Every minnow vote matters.. Every person here can contribute instead of waiting for someone else to do it.

Wise words...
I think we need leadership...that would help a lot in order to organize ourselves to work for the sake of the steem blockchain...
That is what I miss.

Surprising that the space is still very vacant in that regard

Go Steem Go...voted twice
