The issue which I think is the main barrier is the fact that Steem just isn't easy to get on board with, for many people out there. I know that I will have to spend a lot of time explaining every part of the process to them - it took me very long to learn. I'm a technical and patient person, so I held out and have been learning for over a year now. I had no idea what at all I was doing when I started, it was a struggle. I started, then I stopped, but started again when I had some free days in my diary to understand it fully. In this age of instant gratification, people will struggle. You have to work hard to be paid well.
