There are more posts about Bitcoin on Steemit than on Reddit.com/r/Bitcoin
Methodology
I loaded the following two url's, and immediately counted the posts in the last 30 minutes.
www.reddit.com/r/bitcoin/new
www.steemit.com/created/bitcoin
I then went through each one to remove posts that were not primarily related to Bitcoin (generally they were about altcoins).
Results
r/bitcoin - 19 (19 posts, 0 not primarily related to Bitcoin)
created/new - 24 (29 posts, 5 not primarily related to Bitcoin)
Conclusion
This was a very small sample and could easily have different results at different times of the day. However, at least until it's done more rigorously, it appears that there may be more posts being created about Bitcoin on Steemit.com than on the most popular Bitcoin subreddit.
yes it brings alot of attention to steemit wich is great!
Thank for sharing the link but does it do any impact on BTC i am a nerd sorry for asking a silly question
It only suggests that Steemit may in fact be the biggest community for Bitcoin discussion.
I do think though that Bitcoin will be under threat if Steem grows large enough to usurp it.
The reason is Steemit itself has its own crypto currency so people here talk more about crypto world. Also, some people here are already traded bitcoins before coming to this platform, so yaeh!
That's true but the /r/Bitcoin subreddit has been one of the top places for Bitcoin discussion for several years, with a long legacy compared to this site that's less than 2 years old.
Hey Demo, there is also /r/btc and Bitcoinmarket and one or two others that discuss bitcoin(can't remember off top of my head though).
Have you seen how /r/bitcoin is censored and all that? /r/btc was created due to that, they actually have open mod logs there so you can see why someone is banned or posts removed. in /r/bitcoin they censor anything that is pro on-chain scaling and many other things.
A post on that would be good. I don't know too much about it, but I have seen it first hand over the years here and there.
Yes, I'm aware of that. Despite the censorship /r/bitcoin is still the larger subreddit by far, which is why I chose to compare it. If you combine the two, they would have more Bitcoin posts than on Steemit, but there would be duplicates as well (submissions are commonly made to both subreddits).
Thats nice so for bitcoin queries we dont have to search outside
It's pretty funny how Reddit have no posts relating to bitcoin despite the fact it is supposed to be a BTC subreddit
Seems like Steemit is doing better to not be misleading
Oh no it's the opposite. All 19 posts on /r/bitcoin pertained to Bitcoin. 5 posts on Steemit were basically altcoin posts just getting traffic by using the Bitcoin tag.
Interesting..I wonder whats stat with original bitcointalk forum
Not surprising since Steemit is more of a niche cryptocurrency blogging site. It would be interesting to see how many of those posts are actually useful. Wonder how many are just some copy and paste videos from youtube about bitcoin with a few comments from the poster on steemit.
Nice! Steemit is numero uno:)
@demotruk,
STEEMIT on the lead and thank you very much for sharing such great analysis with us!
Cheers~
Hehe way to go steemit :)
