SteemIt Posts Can Never Be Tampered With and Are Censorship Resistant!

Internet Forums and Social Media have a Censorship Problem

On Reddit recently the CEO /u/spez edited users posts to say things that they did not say. This kind of impersonation is possible because Reddit has a single proprietary database, the administrators of which can change any data at any time! Facebook, Twitter and many other forums have seen controversies of censorship, where the administrators or moderators make political decisions about what is allowed to be seen.

Steem Posts Can't Be Tampered With

On Steem, every post is digitally signed. The signature proves that only the person with the password could have written the post. No admin can go back and change your post to say something you didn't.

Steem is Censorship Resistent

Steem runs on a decentralized blockchain. This means that you are in charge of what you see, no admin or moderator can remove posts from your vision unless you decide to allow them to. By having a choice of clients, you can ensure that you can see absolutely anything, or set your own policies. The blockchain also ensures that you have the full context of every post or comment. Because every post, comment, edit is recorded and time-stamped, you always have a complete account of the digital conversation.

This is suck bullshit. I have posted stuff that was removed or blocked by someone.

What post do you think was removed?

It says this post was hidden due to low ratings. That just means it was removed.
There was a pic along with it an it was also hidden.

I have an idea for an app. It’s for ladies only. It makes your phone vibrate while you watch porn.

Steem doesn't eliminate censorship, it gives you the tools to work around attempts to censor.

By analogy, imagine Steem and Facebook are high street stores and you're on the street outside. Facebook is a store with one window. Facebook control everything inside the store, and they control the window you can look in from. They can tint it red, they can block parts off that are invisible, and they can move things around inside so that they are different from what they were before.

In the Steem storefront, anyone can make a window, including you yourself. SteemIt.com is just one window, the main one which people use now, but steemd.com is also a window, steemdb.com is another window, eSteem is a window, Busy.org is a window. Any of them can influence what you see inside, should you choose to use them, but you always have the choice to use another window including your own. And unlike Facebook, none of them can change what is inside the store, all they can do is provide a perspective into it.

Incidentally, here is your post seen with another website, one which is not controlled by the owners of SteemIt.com:
