[Steem talk] FUD FOMO is the Fertilizer

It's been a week since the announcement, so much of rumours and speculation going on. Mixed feeling between fiater and cryptoer fighting to their death defending their believe, whilst we poor "steemitant" being left here wondering what to do with our "future".

First of all, FUD or FOMO, both are new abbreviations to me. I only got to know these terms since I started with crypto few years ago. The first time I popped the question of WTF is a FOMO, and I got laughed at for weeks. Even sometimes when someone reminds it, it will become a laughing stock again where a veteran trader have no idea what those words stands for.

Lemme tell you, IDC WTF is FUD or FOMO, in trading, it's all about psychology. It's all greed and fear. It's not like you're making up new terms and you get to eat the pie. In the end, who is HODLing the winner decides who wins. And even if you HODL to the day a crypto mooned, whether you liquidate on time is another issue.

Let's get on with the FUD. As far as I know, it stands for Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. It's actually same different. When you have doubt, because the situation is uncertain. And when you could not assess the possible change in future, you fear. We can easily break it down and see what is hiding behind the emotion. If the situation is certain, and basically everybody knows what they should do, given the ultimatum should be loss or gain, we're prepared and knowing how to deal with it. And therefore, there's nothing to fear anymore. We know it's going to be pain, but that's just life. We'll be anticipating, no doubt.

However, FOMO is the bi-product of FUD. Because majority of people are greedy(if not all, including myself). And FOMO stands for Fear Of Missing Out. When you know what to expect, you will either buy in now, so you won't miss an opportunity to financially gain from an event. Or, you will choose to liquidate a position so you get out of a situation that possibly reduce your wealth when a possible financial event happens. So it's now very clear, unless you know about the situation of the FUD, then you FOMO. You can't FOMO if you don't know what is it, that's FUD.

So I'd propose one thing, since it's FUD now for most people in the community, and many of us FOMO is token swap take place, are we at the best position or will we lose a substantial of wealth? We will just have to FOLD - Follow Our Lousy Decision. You wouldn't know if shit will turn out good. I know shit smells, but shit is fertilizer for many farming activities. I didn't ask you to eat shit, but back in the old days, my cousin brother fertilize my granny's plants, and we eat the food 😂

In any financial (crypto included) industries, no news is a good news. When there is good news, there is possibilities of a bad news covered up. or if there's a bad news, basically it's really bad to an extend it can't be covered up anymore. Due to the uncertainty, and general public reaction of fear to miss out, there's so much of activity in the exchange market. I've been FOLDing my SBD below 0.25, and buy back again when it's above 0.25 here and there. It's like coin tossing. I could be wrong, if SBD drop forever after it touches 0.25, I will be losing a lot of value. Or, I will be having a lot more steem in my wallet. I'm just too busy to even power down. I have trust in steem Blockchain, but I'd love to take this opportunity to take some advantage of the market. I may be making some small profit here and there, but bear in mind if things didn't turnout good and needed a token swap immediately, I'd be FUBAR.

What? I did not mention FUBAR at my title? It has originally nothing to do with crypto trading, but it somewhat very expressive when we make a wrong move, Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition. So once again, even if I FUBARed, I'm sure there are thousands of others who FUBARed together with me. I'm just going to take this opportunity to thank those who stayed in, and to the rest of the world who FOMO even before the FUD, I wish you good luck, but your good luck would mean I'm bad. So, may the FUBAR be with you 😂
