WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN IT SAYS PAYOUT DECLINED?

Hello,
Just looking at some post and it gas the money amount greyed out, it says payout declined.
Would love any intelligent responses to this question?

I love Steem cause you can ask questions and almost always get it answered in the matter of a few minutes.

Keep on steeming everyone, till nobody wants to be on Facebook anymore, or at least the smart people.k3357926.jpg​

    It means the author declines to receive money for the post. for any reason, maybe their pushing a service or highlighting someone else's work.

        i was curious too, first thing that came to mind was had that person done something wrong, lol so still curious about something else if they decline the pay-out can they also choose where it will go ? so does it just remain unpaid ? basically what happens to it thanks
