RE: Tricks of the trade: Showcasing what you've got

Hi Taraz. I agree to some point but can you gauge someone properly from Steemit. Yes and no. Only a few of us actually wear our hearts on our sleeves. I know I could work with you because you have a great sense of humor. Some people just click. It would be a fantastic opportunity for head hunting I agree but how many people are bullshitting and being true to themselves. I have found a small group who I interact with and get on with and wouldn't hesitate if they had the skills to hire them.
the block chain and coding will be huge and lots of opportunities for the smart ones. I am too old to learn that and the only thing I could bring to the table is experience in management, loyalty, sense of humor and just getting the job done. In the last few years I have noticed more and more delegating from management and they actually don't know what work is any more. I mentioned this because it came up in conversation today when one of the managers was whining.

It is the same everywhere. No company/person would only use social media as the indicator but it could be used as a supplement. Imagine hiring for some position that requires interaction or team building and finding that here they were unable/unwilling to engage well. Would you hire them?

I see the same thing among older managers but a move back to responsibility from most of the younger ones I work with. They are getting hands on again as they seem to realise/feel that without real skills and connection to the work, their position is tenuous at best.
