Good point. Once price of steem will raise to 1-2$ then all new users will have a real hard time.
I cannot imagine anyone from poor countries who could invest 50$ usd (or more) just to have 40-50SP which would allow to build some basic engagement.
Algorythm behind RC is so very wrongly created.

I understand why they made the RC algorithm as they did, although I may disagree with the reason and the concept.
