The crypto market has been going through one of the worst bear markets it has ever expected - some of the major projects have dropped in price up to 95%! Steem has dropped from around $4 two years ago to its current price of $0.13.... It has left many people sad, upset and many have left Steem. However, with the right attitude we can keep people around for the long term.

Goal setting

One of the best things to do in a bear market is to set goals. For me I started setting goals right away - 1SP, 10SP, 100SP.... you get the idea. By having a goal I always have something to aim for and to work towards, and the low price of Steem isnt such a problem.

Goals dont have to be all about SP though. For example you could have a goal to be the number 1 hunt on @steemhunt, or even aim at building a stake in a specific tribe.

Think long term

Most people who have been here more than a few months realise that building something great will take time - we are talking 5 years or more. Many people leave early on because their posts dont earn much. Yes in Steem prices today they probably arent, but what about of Steem goes to $1, $5, $10 or even $100??!

I remind myself of the great projects going on whenever I find myself down about the price of Steem. @steemhunt are doing great things, @actifit are always making updates and moving in the right direction and @steemmonsters is growing like crazy.

Last but not least....have fun!

Too many people on here take it all to seriously. Yes it sucks when your investment is down 90%, but remember we are here to have fun and share this experience together as a decentralised alternative to places like Youtube, Facebook and Instagram.

I have nothing wrong with constructive conversations about the future of Steem, but try have fun and keep it positive - you never know whether a potential new user will read your rant!
