How to Buy & Transfer Steem With Coindirect
If you're looking to purchase Steem and want to avoid the process of having to purchase an entry cryptocurrency first like Bitcoin and Ethereum with fiat and then trading that cryptocurrency for Steem. Once you have your Steem you would then send that over to Steemit to power up your account. I really didn't feel like doing that and luckily I found a site that makes the process a bit easier.
The site is called CoinDirect
CoinDirect allows users to buy 34 different cryptocurrencies with fiat currency including Steem
How to buy Steem with Coindirect
- Create an account with CoinDirect
- Click on the fiat currency you would like to use from the drop-down menu in the top left corner
- Scroll down to Steem from the list of coins and click buy
- Select a seller you would like to purchase from
- Click buy
- Enter the amount of Steem you would like to purchase
- Select your payment method from the drop down menu
- Click place order for Steem and you're done
The order should process within 5 minutes and the Steem should be in your CoinDirect Wallet. If you haven't received your coins please click on your order number and message the seller directly

How to transfer Steem from CoinDirect to Steemit
In order to transfer your Steem from Coindirect to Steemit you need to follow the these instructions
On the CoinDirect site
- Click on wallet
- Select your Steem wallet
- Click send
On Steemit site
- Go to steemit.com and click on your profile picture. From the drop-down menu, click on "wallet"
- From there, click on permissions. Here it will display several "keys."
- Copy your Memo Key (public key) to your clipboard. In my personal account, my memo key starts with the three letters "STM"
On the CoinDirect site
- Head back to the coindirect site
- Add the Steem Address you just copied
- Enter the amount you want to transfer
- Enter your Coindreict account login password to confirm the transaction
Follow these steps and your Steemit account should receive your Steem shortly for you to power up your account.
Monitoring your transfer
If you want to check up on on the status of your transfer head to your wallet, click on the magnifying glass icon next to your transfer and a window should pop up with the status of your transfer
