The Future of Steem

Good day everyone. I am a member of steemit for 2 years already. I have been posting on my account occasionally. I have also bought steem to buy steem power.
But after a while i have these thoughts:

What is the future direction of steem?

Is there a more credible use for it aside from earning crypto by posting and upvoting?
