That will be impossible ads make the internet and other media survive. But for the moment ads are not coming in steem. Ads needs more eyeballs hundred millions maybe before it will an alternative ads medium and rhat would make the platform viable for all users.
Since many steem* users are geeks and commonly use ad blockers, ads put in here would get a very low hit ratio. Plus the problems to integrate them with steem economy in a way that does not anger users..
Unless ad managers get very clever and integrate it in some meaningful way in the blockchain.
Wether we like it or ads will be coming our way. They will always find a way to circumbent ad blockers. And besides money talks. Even voting votes advertise themselves in steemit in a diffirent way. Social media like steem and facebook are medium for information just like tv or cable networks.
