Why doesn't this go to the DAO to fund something useful instead of burning?

Creating posts where people could vote to fund the DAO is a perfectly good idea, but it is a different one than this.

All this does is make the trending page look like shit. Least it could do is fund something in the DAO. I understand the point of burning. But, I think putting it towards developing the ecosystem would be a lot more intelligent in the long run.

Feel free to start your own daopost. If stakeholders want to vote for it there is nothing wrong with that. Personally I think the almost-1% annual budget for DAO (plus being partial or full beneficiary on quite a few other posts) is sufficient at this point and there is more value in reduced inflation, but as inflation is scheduled to drop in future years, and with it the DAO budget, that probably won't always be the case as it is now.

As for the trending page, I don't really care. If no one can come up with good valuable content that convinces stakeholders it is worth more than burning, that says a lot about the supposed value being contributed by that content, and trending is just being honest about the fact.

Maybe what we see on trending tells us we need to reassess things on a deeper level, not complain about the symptom.

Touche. I mean they could do something like at the very least curate some content to throw on this post instead of making it completely worthless.

And I wouldn't say we're lacking valuable content. I'd say we're lacking significant curation effort from big stakeholders. Someone like me with only ~750SP right now hardly has any effect curating. There's good content out there. But, it's near impossible to trend now without bidbots.

But, it's near impossible to trend now without bidbots.

That can't be right. The same amount of content trends every day as before. What you are observing is that it is near impossible to trend on-demand, as it should be.

There are still some exceptions mostly in the case of big vote traders who still trend on every single post, which are being pushed back against with downvotes.
