Why am I seeing people doing downvotes all day long?
Is there an internal WAR happening here?

I have seen people get paid for Downvoting , is this true? Don't think this is encouraging at #steemit

I flag people who are blatantly spamming tags, or are being abusive to others. This has led to people rage flagging me in response, I have had it happen on two separate occasions. It is what it is. The one time I responded in kind, but I think that is counter productive to my efforts. I want to help make this site a great place.
An instance of people taking revenge on me for flagging was my post on CRISPR:

I was seeing a lot of people tagging non science material in the science tag just to abuse the system and get more attention, so I started flagging those posts. In turn they all flagged this one CRISPR article. I received 10 flags that day. Made me question what I was doing on here for a bit, I even powered down. I have since come to my senses and stopped the power down, and have a new resolve to help make steemit an awesome place for everyone (except spammers).

No @kalimor is mad because I support @cheetah and what @anyx is trying to do. He flagged a post of mine earlier where I said I agreed with @anyx, so I decided to investigate him. He looked to be what @anyx was saying, someone who copies others material. So I flagged 4 of his old posts.
Thus began his attack flagging everything ive ever said, and everything i have posted or said since.
He will likely continue to downvote me forever, it's what ever. I don't really care, my upvote is worth 20 times what his his downvote is. So all he is doing is wasting his own time.
STOP FLAGING PEOPLE AND PEOPLE WHO DESERVE IT WILL GET REWARDED AND THOSE WHO DON'T WILL NOT.

No that's not true though. There is lots of garbage that makes money. Flagging is a great way to nip a bad post in the bud.

I will downvote, copy/paste, plagiarism, tag spam, and being offensive. I mean really offensive when it directed at another user or group of people. Not just the average run of the mill being a jerk.
I also leave constructive comments on articles that are borderline and headed in that direction.
I'm not downvoting as much as I'd like due to the fact that I like to upvote and support users too.

I've been paid in the past for flagging spam, but not to maliciously flag people. @positive and @ sigmajin have paid me for fighting spam. I have also received lot's of upvotes and support for my work.
Flagging spam and rage flagging people are two different things. You are doing things for the good of the site. Others are just trying to be trolls I think.

Why do you think it cannot be seen? Click on the list of votes on a post, and you'll see a list with + and - before names. + is upvote, and - is downvote.

Yes, I was downvoted unfairly for, in my opinion, very subjective reasons, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with calling out those who are doing this. I mean, if people are being paid to downvote legitimate posts (like really inappropriate stuff) then fine. But I think we're perpetuating the negativity but putting names up like a most wanted list. I think those that are doing this intentionally to be malicious or being paid to downvote anything just to get the dollar then they should be down-rated accordingly until they stop. Eventually something will be in place to prevent this sort of thing and the rainbow-colored unicorns will rejoice with wanton abandon. ;-)
