RE: Why Isn't Your Steemit Following And Earnings Growing?

in #steem7 years ago

It is sort of a combination of all that stuff. I do run an autovoter that upvotes some of the people I follow. It makes things more efficient. I can't get to every new posts because there are so many. But I upvote a ton of stuff manually as well. Like your comment! lol

Thank you very much, I realize how much harder it can become for people who have more followers, and for the 'whales', but I think the time and effort is well worth it. I am not ready to do the advanced techniques that you many others are doing, I'm just trying to figure out how this platform works, because honestly some of it is above my head, but I will keep on learning, and I did learn a thing or two from you, so thanks.

Once you have been around for awhile stuff starts to make more sense but if you are newer to crypto currencies then certain things can be confusing for sure.

What are some upvoters if I wanted to check out something like that? How does it work exactly is it a website that you give permissions to to access your account? Is it safe? Any particular one to trust?

So I use https://steemvoter.com/ It is safe. You are only letting them user your posting key so let's pretend the site got hacked. Well someone could maybe upvote posts and comment on stuff and maybe post something as you but they wouldn't be able to get into your wallet.

Okay thanks for the heads up. I think that's how steepshot was as well just the posting key. I downloaded the app for that but found I was basically having to go back on steemit to add tags and/or do a writeup so I figurued what's the point and ditched the app

yeah I haven't tried Steepshot yet but everyone's review of it was basically the same. That they then had to just get on the computer to adjust it.

Yeah I kind of expected it to be a different site or interface altogether. I was kind of surprised when the photos I posted wound up on my blog feed. I personally would prefer to keep more written and video content on my blog feed so if I were to use Steepshot like Instagram for example I think my feed would get bogged down with photos since its obviously easier to create more photo content than written content. Nothing necessarily wrong with that I guess but just not what I was goign for. If they could somehow segment steemit into steepshot and steemit and they woudl stay seperate I may use it.

There is a way for them to separate it ultimately if it becomes a problem. There is a tag that signifies where it came from when it gets on the STEEM blockchain. If Steemit.com decided to make it so it only shows certain content they could. Or what makes more sense is to let it be user driven and put it in the settings to people can either decide to have other stufff show up on their regular feed or to not show it.
